Ep 28: Digital Art Av. Series - Concept Art fields
This series explores different Avenues for Digital Art if pursuing a professional role. These may be within fields such as Concept Art, Illustration, Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Interior Design and so on.
This Episode looks at different sub categories of Concept Art/Design such as Environment Design, Character Design, Creature Design, Industrial Design and Matte Painting.
There are many variables within these areas such as is it video games/film, is it for PC or for mobile apps and so on. So these will really come down the company you would want to work for and what you're interested in. Do your research and see what successful artists are out there in the field you want to work for and the standard of their portfolio. When you know the sort of job you want to do it will make the direction and what you need to do alot easier to plan and achieve. Since if you don't have goal how would you know where to aim?
Feel free to add your own pieces of advice in the comments.

howtodigitalpaint | Ep 26 - Study Series: Self Portrait 2
Going for a more painterly style for this one with a bit more dramatic lighting.
Actual time was exactly 1 hour. So this is at 8x speed.

howtodigitalpaint - Ep 25: Study Series: Self Portrait
Here's a Timelapsed Self Portrait. I don't always use this process but here I'm working from Greyscale then adding some colour.
A bit rusty on these but I think it didn't turn out too bad.
Actual time is 1 1/2 hours.

howtodigitalpaint | Ep 24: Pop-Menus
You may have noticed in most of my videos a Pop-up menu that I use for selecting tools and brushes. Here I explain what that is and how you can use it. Although Photoshop has it's own pop-up menu if you right-click ont he canvas for selecting Brush Presets, I prefer to use the Wacom Intuos Pop-up Menus. Although you can always use both if you bind keys for them.

howtodigitalpaint | Ep 22: Study Series -- Master Studies
Master Studies are a great way to analyse and learn how to achieve painterly mark making, colour and many other skills. Watch the video to see some techniques for checking proportions and measuring by eye. And then going into the full process of doing a master study (timelapsed).
If you like the videos let me know, also make requests for topics you would like to see covered.
howtodigitalpaint | Ep 23: Study Series -- Screencap Studies
Films usually are very deliberate about getting good lighting and composition in each shot. Therefore, doing studies of film screencaps is a great way to learn techniques and get ideas for dramatic lighting, and also for storytelling within your frame.
howtodigitalpaint - Study Series: Warmups and Anatomy drills
Here are some suggestions for warmups for trainign your hand eye coordination with the wacom tablet, or even traditional tools. Also some routine studies I have been doing lately for anatomy practice. I'm really rusty at this stuff so that is motivation for me to really get back into this sort of routine.
